This is the history of the 85 repeater.

The original call sign was WR9ABS.  MICOR Stood for Milwaukee County Repeater Society Inc.  It resided at Amateur Electronic Supply, 4820 W Fond du lc in Milwaukee. There antenna was on top of a 200 foot tower.  And was a premier repeater with auto patch.

By April of 1988 membership dropped to 43 members. and shortly after that there was only 2, and then removed from Amateur Electronic Supply, and was given a home at Dan Bolander house..

It was given a home on top of his 80' tower on 68 and Silver Spring.  There were no members left, and no money, and Dan kept the repeater together on a shoe string budget.  Dan retired and move to Florida.  And the repeater moved out to Hubertus, in 2000. The repeater has a new home 1200 feet above sea level on the top of jacks tower K9JAC, who provides home and electricity and a phone line for control.

We are in the process of raising funds to rebuild the repeater. We have raised enough money to purchase a new TX RX duplexer witch was smashed by UPS, (see pictures)..

The technical support is provided by a small group of volunteers. ( see members )
